Position
Staff Accountant

Summary
A leading sporting goods manufacturer is seeking a qualified Staff Accountant. This role will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), preparing financial statements, handling monthly closings, and performing a variety of accounting tasks.

Essential Duties

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions.
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently.
• Utilize accrual accounting to ensure proper expense and revenue recognition.
• Support tax return preparation and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Perform internal audits to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions.
• Use QuickBooks or other accounting software to record and monitor financial transactions.
• Perform additional accounting-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• ​​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software is required.
• Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Knowledge of technical accounting principles is a plus.
