Sales & Business Development Manager

Summary
A leading Japanese manufacturer of advanced thermal solutions is seeking a seasoned Sales & Business Development Manager to spearhead their business launch in the United States.
Our client is a global leader in producing high-quality thermoelectric cooling components—solid-state semiconductor devices used for precision cooling in medical, industrial, and consumer products.
This is a foundational, senior-level role for a proactive professional who will build the company's US presence from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative and independent leader, capable of managing all commercial aspects of the operation.
This position offers a significant growth trajectory, with the potential to eventually lead both US and European markets.


Essential Duties​​​​​​

• Lead the full-cycle business launch in the US, including market research, competitive analysis, and strategic planning.
• Develop direct sales channels and identify, recruit, and manage a network of distribution partners.
• Present, promote, and sell products using solid arguments to prospective customers.
• Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships to ensure long-term success.
• Manage all non-accounting operational and administrative tasks, including sales documentation and reporting.
• Plan, prepare for, and represent the company at industry trade shows and exhibitions.
• Supply management with regular reports on customer needs, market trends, and competitive activities.
• Collaborate closely with the company's headquarters in Japan to align on strategy and report progress.

Working Hours, Working style 

• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
• Working Style: This is a remote, work-from-home position requiring a high degree of independence and self-management. You will work as a solo contributor in the US while maintaining close collaboration with the international team.

• Work From Home.
• Residency on the US West Coast is preferred. (Candidates located in this region will be prioritized for ease of collaboration with Japan HQ and market coverage).

Salary/Benefit

• Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience.
• Bonus: Performance-based bonus.

Qualifications​​​​​​

• ​​​​​​​A minimum of 5 years of new business development experience within a US-based company, selling tangible products.
• Full professional proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
• Deep familiarity with US business culture and practices.
• Exceptional communication, listening, and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with international headquarters.
• A proactive, self-starting individual capable of independently managing a new business territory.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for trade shows and headquarter visits.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
