Position
IT System Engineering Manager

Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced IT System Engineering Manager to join their growing entertainment organization. This role is responsible for end-to-end system engineering, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, and delivery within scope and budget.

The IT System Engineering Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality systems aligned with business and strategic goals. This position also supports strong IT governance through documentation, technical standards, and collaboration across IT teams.

Essential Duties

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical and system designs

• Propose technical alternatives and improve or streamline systems and processes

• Participate in system engineering planning, including backlog decomposition, estimation, and sequencing

• Work within a small, focused Agile or Scrum team to deliver solutions

• Take ownership of technical quality and drive continuous improvement

• Develop mobile-responsive front-end web components using modern web technologies

• Develop server-side components using a Microsoft technology stack

• Build systems and services to reengineer tasks requested by internal departments

• Create tools to support engineering and operational processes

• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure application performance and security

• Write technical specifications and maintain system documentation

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and user interface design

• Proficiency in one or more of the following: JavaScript, VBA, SQL, Linux

• Experience using Microsoft applications, including Excel with VBA macros

• Working knowledge of design patterns and data structures

• Ability to independently implement designs based on UML diagrams

• Experience with B2C systems, POS platforms, and SKU-based product management

• Experience building system integrations using APIs

• Experience working with ERP or back-office systems

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong communication skills to lead projects and collaborate with stakeholders

• Japanese language proficiency preferred
