Position
Mechanical Field Engineer 

Summary
A Japanese machinery company is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Field Engineer. This role will provide comprehensive on-site technical service and support for automotive battery manufacturing equipment at customer factory locations across the US.


Essential Duties

• Installation and Commissioning: Provide expert technical guidance and supervision for the installation, setup, and commissioning of automotive battery manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
• Startup and Adjustment: Perform initial startup, rigorous testing, and fine-tuning adjustments to optimize equipment performance according to specifications and customer requirements.
• Repair and Maintenance: Execute timely and effective troubleshooting, repair, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to resolve complex machinery malfunctions.
• Technical Support: Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact, providing expert technical advice and support to customers and their operational teams.
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all field activities, including installation checklists, repair actions, technical issues, resolutions, and test results, and submit comprehensive reports to management.
• Continuous Improvement: Relay valuable field data and customer feedback to the engineering and manufacturing teams to assist in product development and continuous process improvement.

Working Hours, Working style

09:00 - 17:00 

The role is highly field-based, requiring frequent and extended travel (up to 70% of the time) for long-term on-site assignments at customer facilities across the US.
Frequent travel/commute to the Dallas headquarters will be required, but residence in the state of Texas is not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Japanese (Business / Fluent )  

• Proficient in reading mechanical blueprints/drawings

• Skilled in mechanical adjustment and commissioning

• Ability to analyze failures, report findings, and determine corrective actions

• Experience in equipment assembly (including on-site setup at customer locations and supervising external contractors)
