Job Description

Position: Quantity Surveyor

Summary: The Quantity Surveyor will assist the Site Manager in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the project. This role includes handling project changes, negotiating change orders, and ensuring the project remains within the original budget and schedule.

Essential Duties:

• Review progress and cost reports to support the Site Manager.
• Manage change orders and negotiate approvals with the client and subcontractors.
• Participate in preconstruction planning and cost estimation.
• Familiarize with project specifications, contracts, and schedules.
• Communicate with the project management team and subcontractors to ensure contract conformity.
• Prepare and negotiate change order request forms.
• Attend project progress meetings and ensure project completion within the budget and schedule.
• Build effective relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Direct the project management team towards project success.

Working Hours, Working Style:

• Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, and possible holidays as directed by the Site Manager.
• Flexibility to relocate if necessary for other projects.

Working Location: Project site office in De Soto, KS

Salary/Benefit:

• Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually.
• Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications:

• Certified Quantity Surveyor.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial construction or mechanical installation.
• Knowledge of construction contract language and terms.
• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in PC and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Associates Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil), or related field preferred.
