Assistant Site Manager

Summary

A general contractor company is seeking an Assistant Site Manager for a significant installation project at a new lithium-ion battery production facility in De Soto, Kansas. The Assistant Site Manager will support the Site Manager in overseeing field activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and safely.

Essential Duties

• Project Financial Responsibilities:
  • Review and update progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion.
• Preconstruction Services:
  • Participate in reviewing drawings and specifications.
  • Estimate costs and manhours required for project tasks.
  • Involved in budget and schedule planning.
• Project Start-up and Scheduling:
  • Understand project specifications and contracts.
  • Ensure all materials and subcontract work comply with contract documents.
  • Conduct site visits/inspections to maintain work quality.
• Project Administration Operations and Close-Out:
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractor and field personnel activities.
  • Communicate expectations and directions regarding schedules, construction methods, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure site security and a safe working environment.
  • Attend progress meetings and ensure project closeout processes are finalized.
• Promote Relations:
  • Build effective relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain good relationships among the field project management team.

Working Hours, Working Style

• Extended hours, weekends, and possible holidays as directed by the Site Manager and project schedule.
• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment on job sites.

Working Location

• De Soto, KS (project site office)

Salary/Benefit

• Competitive salary of $95,000 - $100,000 annually with benefits, details to be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction or mechanical installation.
• Familiarity with field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of construction contract language and terms.
• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Proficiency in using personal computers and company communication tools (email, internet, Microsoft products).
• Ability to review daily logs and reports for project updates.
• Associate Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions on job sites.
