【Position】
Lead Accountant

【Summary】
Lead Accountant is responsible for the activities listed below and any other necessary duties as an expert.
All operations are to be conducted with special attention to detail.

【Essential Duties】
<Tax> 

• Evaluate the risk and economical impact of any of the new projects/business opportunities from the tax perspective. This includes the US domestic (US Federal, States, Counties, and any other local jurisdictions) and international (cross-border taxation) viewpoints. 
• Tax planning and optimization for the Company and new transactions. 
• Create and manage the tax model for each transaction. 
• Coordinate and negotiate with Joint Venture (JV) partners to determine the tax treatment in any of the planned JV.
•  Coordinate with the external tax advisors to conduct any necessary studies. 
•  Coordinate with Lead Accountant who is in charge of the preparation of the tax return to reflect the specifications of each transaction to the return. 

<Accounting>

• Coordinate and negotiate with Joint Venture (JV) partners to determine the accounting treatment in any of the planned JV. 
• Coordinate with the external accounting advisors to conduct any necessary studies. 
• Coordinate with Lead Accountant who is in charge of the closing and audit correspondence so that Lead Accountant can determine the correct treatment. 
• Coordinate with other personnels in F&A team to determine the accounting treatment for any new projects/business opportunities. 

<Others>

•  Support Commercial team to prepare and maintain the cash flow model for the planned projects/business opportunities. JOB DESCRIPTION2 of 3 
•  Lead the discussions among JV partners for tax and accounting issues. Prepare the necessary discussion material (presentations and other supporting materials) to contribute the efficient discussions among partners. 
• Collaborate with Commercial team for the transactions to capture the latest status of the transaction as well as to share the tax and accounting considerations to the team. This includes but not limited to attend the commercial meetings. 
• Collaborate with personnel in INPEX Corporation in Japan to smoothly process the INPEX Group’s internal procedures. 
• Contribute the growth of the staff accountants in Finance & Accounting team by sharing the useful information and general guidance. 
• Execute other tasks upon instructed/requested by Manager.

【Qualifications】

• USCPA or same level of accounting and tax knowledge is required. 
• Extensive knowledge in US Federal and cross-border (transfer pricing) taxation is required. 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
• Experience in leading the tax planning for the new transactions or deals is required. 
• Experience in determining the accounting treatment for the new transactions or deals is required. 
• Experience in the preparation of cash flow model and tax model is required. 
• Experience at energy industry or chemical industry is preferred. 
• Experience in Joint Venture arrangement is preferred. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 
• Ability to multi-task. 
• Ability to analyze complex business/operational/technical data. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to complete on-time delivery assigned tasks. 
• Critical thinking and critical thinking skills. 
• Ability to work proactively in diverse teams. 
• Driven and initiative-taking to work with minimal supervision along with strong emphasis towards team goals.
