Payroll Processing (40%)Process bi-weekly payroll for over 300 employees located throughout the USA; reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate; research and resolve any concerns related to paychecks, hours, deductions, and/or taxes. Calculate and set up wage garnishment in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Monitor time tracking system as needed to ensure employees’ time is properly recorded and that related transactions are processed accurately.Maintain Current Payroll Records (20%)Maintain current payroll records by updating deductions, employee demographic information, PTO and holiday information. Balance payroll records with payroll register, recognizing and correcting irregularities and creating journal entries. Maintain and manage employee data, files, timesheets, reimbursement records, payroll reports and registers.Ensure Compliance (20%)Comply with federal, state, and local laws by understanding existing requirements and new legislation; advise management of material changes. Prepare year-end ACA reporting with the assistance of ADP.Payroll Related Projects (15%)Responsible for payroll related projects including year-end preparations (W2s and 1095s), documentation, employee tax issue and annual audits; prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes and deductions.Human Resources General Support (5%)Provide general human resources and administrative support, as needed.
1. Associate’s Degree on a related field2. 5+ years of payroll processing of 100+ employees3. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification preferred4. Experience with web based payroll platforms (i.e. ADP Workforce Now)5. Experience with electronic time and attendance systems6. Working knowledge of Federal and California wage and tax laws.
