Position
Jr. Bridge Engineer
* Temp to Hire

Summary
The Jr. Bridge Engineer will collaborate with development teams and 3rd party vendors to ensure design and architecture work efforts are aligned with business and system requirements.
The Jr. Bridge Engineer is responsible for: translating customer’s business requirements into architectural solutions and documentation. The Jr. Bridge Engineer will provide technical leadership to the software development team responsible for user interfaces, business workflows, web services, middleware, databases and infrastructure.​​​​​​​


Essential Duties
 ​​​​•    Examine and evaluate current systems.
 •    Designs solutions for system enhancements.
 •    Lead small to medium projects.
 •    Research and address issues reported by customers.
 •    Review/approve detailed designs created by partners.
 •    Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features.
 •    Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with business and IT resources for maintenance enhancements.
 •    Validate changes by testing programs.
 •    Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
 •    Become knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.
 •    Master core systems, architectures, and applications.
 •    Demonstrate the ability to liaise between business and technical departments.
 •    Perform Ad-Hoc reporting and report support as necessary.
 •    Create customized reports and extracts based on data provided by various teams via emails, phone calls, meetings and updates within change management systems.
 ​​​​​​​•    Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes.
 •    Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.
 •    Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
 •    On call support for level one production issues.
 •    Other duties may be assigned.

Working Hours, Working style
Monday through Friday 9:00am-6:00 with occasional evening and weekend work requirement. Shift work may be required depending on meeting schedules with Japan. Working at the office at least three times per week is required. This requirement may change with advance notice.

Qualifications
 •    Core competencies of the position are communication, consultation, ethical practice, multitasking, attention to detail, global and cultural awareness as well as relationship management.
 •    Documentation skills for non-functional requirements, functional requirements, business rules, business processes, basic design, functional design, and technical design are required.
 •    Expert knowledge of the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) and/or Product Development Life-Cycle (PDLC).
 •    Development of overall change management strategy.
 •    Experience in Agile/Waterfall methodologies and web product design.
 •    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 •    Experience or background in business analysis, requirements definition, building systems solutions, and deployment of business requirements.
 •    Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
 •    Proficiency in Java programming language
 •    Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, or C#
 •    Experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
 •    Strong knowledge of Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
 •    Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
 •    Detail-oriented and Customer service focus.
 •    Good organizational skills; able to assemble and present information clearly.
 •    Balances multiple priorities successfully.
 •    Troubleshooting ability.
 •    Organization skills and communication expertise complimented by a technology background is preferred.
 •    Bilingual (Japanese and English)
 •    BA/BS in analytics, informatics, computer science, or business and/or equivalent experience required
