Position
Japanese Bilingual Accounting Assistant

Summary
This position supports the Accounting Department by performing a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions. The role requires collaboration with internal teams such as the sales department and occasional interaction with external parties like auditors. We are seeking a proactive individual who is eager to learn and grow within the company. Prior experience in back-office operations is required, and accounting experience is highly preferred.

Essential Duties

Accounts Payable:

• Review and enter payment requests and invoices into the system
• Prepare payments via check or wire transfer

Accounts Receivable:

• Match and input received payments against invoices
• Deposit checks and record ACH transactions
• Maintain accurate customer account records
• Support preparation of monthly AR aging reports

General Accounting Tasks:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
• Provide support during audits and liaise with CPAs
• Collaborate with the sales department on accounting-related issues
• Gain understanding of sales assistant responsibilities

Miscellaneous Duties:

• Perform clerical tasks and assist with special projects
• Uphold ethical standards and company policies
• Back up colleagues during absences
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Working Hours, Working Style

• Full-time
• Standard office hours (typically Monday to Friday)
• Onsite work at Schaumburg, IL office

Salary/Benefit

• Annual salary: $45,000 – $55,000 (Non-exempt position)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
• Japanese language proficiency (business level required)
• English proficiency (business level preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of back-office experience required
• Accounting experience strongly preferred
• Eagerness and ability to proactively learn new tasks and skills
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Comfortable with ERP systems, MS Office, and other general office software
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
