Controls Engineer

Summary
Develop control system architectures, including hardware and software components, based on project requirements and specifications

Essential Duties
Develop control system architectures, including hardware and software components, based on project requirements and specifications

Design and implement control algorithms, such as PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers, state-space controllers, or advanced control techniques, to achieve desired system performance.

Write, debug, and test control software, including PLC programs, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.

Diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues, identify root causes of problems, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable operation

Stay updated with advancements in control system technologies, industry trends, and best practices through self-directed learning, training programs, and participation in professional organizations.

Qualifications
​​​​​​​Proficient in both spoken and written Japanese and English (required)​​​​​​​

5+ yrs experience equipment engneering as controls engineer

possess a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, collaborative abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning, enabling them to design and implement innovative control solutions that meet the needs of diverse industries and applications.

Preferred Experience in Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Yaskawa systems

Ability adapt to new PLC and automation systems given the necessary training

Excellent project management skills, multi-task, prioritizing, managing time effectively, and ability to work independently.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot fundamental technical issues and provide step-by-step technical help.

Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication, along with presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with teammates, customers, and partners.

Ability to communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences in person, via phone, or email.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
