Position
Brewing/ Blending Operator

Summary
Brewing and Blending Operator is responsible for the production of vinegar from sake through fermentation, filtration and blending process.

Essential Duties
​​​​​​​• RESPONSIBLE FOR FOOD SAFETY. Operates and troubleshoots machines to ensure that work-in-progress are manufactured according to standards in an efficient manner.
• Monitor equipment efficiency and perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
• Inspect and remove defective finished products and raw packaging materials from the line and segregate them from conforming products.
• Adjust machines according to protocol to follow product quality standards.
• Supply feeders, rollers and conveyors with needed raw materials for production.
• Assemble boxes used for packaging.
• Attach appropriate labels indicating proper lot codes on finished products.
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report incidents to Production Supervisor.
• Perform packaging of finished products and reject any non-conforming products.
• Secure finished products on pallets by strapping prior to shrink wrapping.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment.
• Complete daily and monthly inventory of raw materials, finished products, and rejected products and fill out document records.
• Assist with hold and non-conformance investigations.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to food safety policies and all government food safety, sanitation, and quality regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, GFSI).

Qualifications
​​​​​​​Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent competency preferred.
• 3-5 years of food manufacturing experience
• HACCP Certification
• Training and/or certification in GMP, SQF, ISO, and Sanitation in the food manufacturing is highly recommended.

​​​​​​​Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.
• Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation best practices for food manufacturing.
• Ensure SDS for cleaning chemicals are documented and filed appropriately. Ability to work safely with various chemicals without risk of product contamination.
• Ability to read, write and understand Sanitation, QA and FS policies and procedures in English and Spanish
• Positive attitude towards Sanitation, QA and FS and other employees in all departments to achieve company objectives.
• Able to identify areas to be cleaned without supervision or direction. Follows company procedure, but is flexible and improvises to clean as needed or in emergency situations.
• Manages time to efficiently get the most work done during an 8-hour shift.
• Administer training and document as needed.

Experience Required:
• 3 years of food manufacturing experience-QA and Food Safety/Sanitation
