Supervisory Responsibilities:Hires and trains MIS staff.Organizes and oversees the schedules of MIS staff.Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy. Duties/Responsibilities:Creates and maintains the network and databases for the company. Provides technical and customer service and support to internal users of the information center’s facilities, which may include maintaining hardware and software and providing training.Ensures stable operation of the network and databases by consistently scheduling and implementing updates and functionality tests; identifies and resolves any issues that are identified during the testing process. Identifies hardware, equipment, and software needs for the organization’s information center; recommends and facilitates upgrades and replacements.Oversees and facilitates the installation and maintenance of new equipment, systems, hardware, and software in the information center.Develops, manages, and implements hardware maintenance, software support, network and remote backups, upgrades, and Internet support. Schedules and produces periodic reports regarding MIS performance.Analyzes and recommends software and hardware to maximize productivity for all networks. Collaborates with other departments and outside computer support vendors to schedule and coordinate upgrades and tests.Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in technology, alerting senior staff of the effects widespread equipment, network, and other revisions, changes, and discontinuations will have on the organization’s information center and related operations.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Thorough understanding of networking systems, such as LAN and WAN.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Organized with attention to detail.Working knowledge of various computer operating systems and interfaces.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Information Security, Computer Programming, or related field required.Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Information Technology highly desired. At least five years of MIS experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role, required.
