【Position】

Associate Controller

【Summary】
​​​​​A Japanese company that manufactures and supplies specialized parts for the automotive industry is currently seeking an experienced accounting and finance professional fluent in Japanese and English, with the potential to become a future controller, in Greer, Indiana.

【Essential Duties】

• Comprehensive Accounting Support (Hands-on): Assist the current Controller and ensure the smooth operation of the entire accounting department.

• Process Improvement (Proposal & Execution): Lead the review, proposal, and execution of improvements to current accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Financial Statement Monitoring & Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of financial statements and prepare reports for senior management.

• Cost Accounting Support & Improvement: Support cost accounting functions and propose improvements to cost calculation methodologies and processes.

• Accounting System Migration Support: Assist with the migration of accounting processes from manual operations (Excel) to system-based solutions.

• Expatriate Tax Support: Serve as a liaison with the HR department to support the tax preparation needs of Japanese expatriate staff.

【Qualifications】

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting/Finance. Experience managing direct reports is highly desirable.

• Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA certification or equivalent knowledge is highly valued.

• Language: Japanese/English Bilingual (Business Fluency).

• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective cross-functional collaboration.

 

【Salary / Benefit】

• Base Salary (Annual): $90,000 to $120,000 (DOE)

• Bonus: Twice per year. Approximately 8% of the base salary annually (subject to performance).

• 401K: 100% company match up to 4% of employee contributions.

• Health Insurance (Medical):

  • High Deductible Plan. All medical expenses are 100% covered by the company after the annual deductible is met.

  • Deductible is lowered to $1,700 for major surgery/illness.

  • HSA account: Company contributes $500 (Individual) / $800 (Family). An additional $200 is provided for completing an annual health screening.

【Holidays】

• Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 days annually (prorated in the first year).

• Company Holidays: 9 to 10 days per year (including the year-end shutdown period).
