Job Description

【Summary】
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including accurate financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audit compliance, and M&A-related financial activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the potential for growth and leadership within the company. 【Essential Duties (Not Official)】

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company.
• Develop and manage the budgeting process, including variance analysis and reporting to management.
• Oversee financial audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations.
• Manage the company’s cash flow, including developing and executing cash management plans.
• Handle tax filings, tax compliance, and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
• Support and coordinate financial due diligence processes related to M&A activities.
• Operate and optimize financial systems (e.g., ERP, SAP).
• Provide financial analysis to management, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of financial data and reports, coordinating with other departments.
• Liaise with auditors, tax professionals, and external consultants to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Supervise and support the finance team (when promoted to a managerial role).
• Advise management on financial risks, opportunities for improvement, and strategies for growth, including M&A opportunities.

M-F 9:00-18:00
Flexible hybrid work style (primarily remote, but in-office attendance required as needed)

【Qualifications】

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, tax compliance, and M&A processes.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
  Preference for candidates who are bilingual in Japanese and English or who have a strong understanding of Japanese culture.
• Experience with financial systems (e.g., ERP, SAP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
