Position
Business Development Manager

Summary
This position is responsible for import sales and marketing activities within the flexible packaging and plastics film converting industries in the Americas. The role focuses on managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, identifying market trends, and proposing new business ideas to generate revenue growth and improve profitability. Frequent interaction with customers and coordination with internal teams are required to support business expansion and maintain strong client relationships.

Essential Duties

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers while developing new business opportunities

• Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market trends

• Develop relationships with prospective customers through outreach and networking

• Explore new business opportunities by utilizing the company’s global network

• Analyze market supply and demand trends, pricing, competition, and customer requirements

• Prepare and deliver presentations to customers and vendors

• Develop product and business strategies, including new product development and entry into new markets

• Monitor and report key market developments and business data to management

• Work closely with Customer Service/Sales Assistant and Accounting teams during monthly closing processes

• Prepare internal reports and documentation as required

• Review sales budgets and forecasts with management on a monthly basis

Working Hours / Working Style
Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Occasional evening availability required for meetings with overseas teams.

Full-time, exempt position.

Working Location
Schaumburg, IL

Main customer base in the Midwest; some accounts may be located on the East Coast, West Coast, and Canada.

Occasional business trips; overseas supplier visits in Asia (Japan, China, Thailand, etc.) approximately once every 1–2 years.

Salary / Benefit
Base Salary: $70,000 – $85,000

Annual bonus (average: approx. 1 month salary, performance-based).

Relocation support available depending on candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Sales or marketing experience in plastics film or resin related to the flexible packaging industry

• Technical knowledge in plastics, polymer, or chemical fields is a plus

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and customer requests efficiently

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and trade terms (INCOTERMS) is a plus

• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
