Outside Sales

Summary
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Outside Sales Representative to join a Japanese trading company. You will be responsible for managing existing sales and developing new business with Japanese and other Asian supermarkets and specialty stores. This is a rewarding role where you will build strong relationships with clients, collaborate with stores and manufacturers to plan promotional events, and directly influence sales growth. We welcome both experienced sales professionals and those looking to start a career in sales. As you'll be working with everyday products, you'll have the chance to see the direct impact of your efforts.

Essential Duties

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts while also pursuing new business opportunities.
• Monitor market trends, product innovations, and competitor activities (products, pricing, and sales).
• Serve as the main point of contact for daily customer communication.
• Educate customers about product features, pricing, and availability.
• Recommend products tailored to customer needs and interests.
• Plan and execute sales visits to demonstrate products and solicit orders.
• Provide post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues.
• Distribute product samples and catalogs to clients.
• Negotiate contracts and payment terms, and prepare all necessary sales documents.
• Collect payments from clients.
• Complete administrative tasks, including preparing sales reports and budgets, maintaining sales records, and filing expense reports.
• Travel to customer locations by air, company car, or public transportation.
• Maintain a presentable product display and assist with stocking while visiting customer sites.
• Perform other duties as required to support sales and branch operations.

Working Hours, Working style
Monday - Friday: 8:30 - 17:30

• Work Style: This is a full-time, exempt position that requires frequent travel to customer locations.

$51,600-$56,400 DOE (Exempt)

Qualifications

• Language: Bilingual proficiency in both Japanese and English is required.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a big plus.
• Skills: Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• License: Must have a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience: Consumer-goods manufacturer or Retail sales experience is a big plus.
