Position
IT System Engineering

Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced IT System Engineer to join their growing entertainment organization. This role is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables secure communication, data exchange, and IT services across the organization.

The IT System Engineer ensures that servers, networks, and systems are reliable, scalable, and secure while working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align system engineering with business and strategic goals. This position also supports strong IT governance through documentation and technical standards.

Essential Duties

Network Design and Implementation

• Design and deploy LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud-based network environments

• Maintain and monitor network and authentication protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, and SSL

• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers

System Administration

• Manage operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS

• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V

• Oversee DHCP and email systems

• Track and maintain hardware and software inventory

• Create tools to support engineering and operational processes

• Identify and recommend improvements to systems and procedures

• Monitor and tune systems to ensure optimal performance

• Assist in planning, testing, and configuring systems

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Provide day-to-day support for user environments including PCs and applications for 500 plus users across local and remote locations

• Provide Tier 1 support for IT operations and troubleshooting requests

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Security and Compliance

• Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, and patch management

• Maintain endpoint security for desktops, mobile devices, and network devices

• Ensure compliance with data protection policies and industry standards

• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure systems are secure and performant

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, incidents, and resolutions

• Create IT operation documentation for technical staff and general users

• Write technical specifications and related documentation

• Prepare reports on system health, performance, and network status

• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems and network engineering

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V

• Experience with B2C environments, POS systems, and SKU-based product management

• Experience integrating systems using APIs

• Experience with ERP or back-office systems

• Proficiency with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, or Python

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel and VBA macros

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and disaster recovery planning

• Experience with JavaScript, VBA, SQL, or Linux

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders

• Japanese language proficiency preferred

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or AWS Solutions Architect are a plus
