Outside Sales Representative (Logistics)

Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing both new and existing customer accounts in the logistics industry. This role involves regular customer visits, proposal preparation, coordination with internal operations teams, and communication with overseas agents. The position requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage multiple customer accounts while supporting business growth.

Essential Duties

• Conduct outside sales activities (approximately 2–3 days per week, no overnight travel required)

• Manage new and existing customer accounts (ratio adjusted based on experience)

• Prepare quotations and sales proposals

• Communicate with overseas agents, primarily via email in English

• Work closely with internal operations and support teams

• Respond to customer inquiries and visit clients based on requests from domestic and international agents

• Manage approximately 20–50 customer accounts

• Travel as needed (approximately once per month, including client visits up to about four hours one way)

Working Hours, Working Style

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour break)
Outside sales: approximately 70%
Office work: approximately 30%

Salary: $70,000

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of logistics sales experience (5–10 years preferred)

• Experience in the logistics industry (freight forwarding experience or logistics experience in manufacturing preferred)

• Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Ability to communicate via email in English and Japanese, and participate in meetings at a conversational level

• Valid driver’s license
