Logistics Coordinator

Summary
The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day logistics and operational needs of high-value client accounts. This position requires a strong sales-oriented mindset and the ability to maintain high-quality service standards. Based in Houston, TX, the Coordinator is responsible for optimizing supply chain efficiency through proactive carrier management, cost containment, and strategic lane analysis.

The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented team player who can work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties
【Shipment Management & Coordination】

• Support day-to-day logistics activities for high-value customers.
• Manage and coordinate international and domestic shipments with shippers, warehouses, and carriers.
• Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers; monitor and/or tender shipments.
• Track and trace all shipments and monitor load status in real-time.
• Proactively identify transit problems and swiftly implement appropriate solutions.

【Carrier Relations & Cost Control】

• Source carriers and negotiate competitive rates.
• Confirm rates with carriers and ensure accurate documentation.
• Responsible for cost containment of shipments to protect profit margins.
• Evaluate shipments and consolidate loads to select the most cost-effective delivery methods.
• Perform lane analysis to determine the most appropriate transportation modes.
• Manage and cultivate long-term shipper and carrier relationships.

【System & Administrative Operations】

• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP software for daily operations.
• Maintain high levels of data accuracy in Microsoft Excel for reporting and tracking.
• Provide decision-making authority on expedites, shipment changes, and authorization of charges.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.

Working Hours & Style
Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: 6+ years of experience in freight auditing, logistics accounting, or transportation invoice processing.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with FTL, LTL, NVOCC, air freight, small package, warehousing, import/export consolidations, world distributions, and project cargo/heavy haul.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Independence: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
