Position Japanese-English Bilingual Branch Operation – Air Freight Division

Summary A Japanese logistics company specializing exclusively in air freight forwarding—originating from a major Japanese conglomerate’s warehouse group—is seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) Branch Operation to join its Carson office (Carson, California). This hybrid position is responsible for developing new business in California and managing key client accounts (including a major automotive client in Dallas), while also providing essential operational and administrative support. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive individual with strong multitasking abilities and the physical capability to support warehouse operations as needed; this role is open to entry-level candidates.

Essential Duties

• Proactively develop new client accounts in the designated territory (San Francisco to San Diego area), including making sales visits via car (day trips or overnight trips, 1-2 times per month).

• Serve as the primary point of contact and provide hands-on support for designated key accounts in Dallas, TX (requires travel 1-2 times per month, 2-3 days per trip).

• Perform on-site operational tasks at client warehouses (e.g., moving products, unpacking items) alongside local staff, rather than solely conducting business meetings.

• Prepare and issue quotations for new and existing clients.

• Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.

• Assist with logistics operations, including tracking shipments and coordinating with carriers.

• Manage billing processes, including preparing and issuing invoices and managing accounts receivable.

• Provide general administrative support to the branch manager and ensure the smooth running of the office.

Working Hours / Working Style

• Full-time, Non-exempt position

• Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• On-site work (Carson office)

• Extensive domestic travel required (e.g., 1-2 times/month to Dallas, TX; 1-2 times/month within California).

Salary / Benefits

• Base Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

• Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking) – required

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively for business – required

• Physical ability to perform warehouse tasks, including lifting and moving products – required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with professionalism and cultural awareness

• Highly motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn and grow in the logistics industry

• Prior experience in sales, customer service, or client support is a plus (entry-level candidates welcome)

• Interest in or experience with air freight forwarding or international logistics is highly desirable

• Knowledge of the automotive or manufacturing supply chain is a plus
