Position
Customs Broker

Summary
A global logistics company located in Elk Grove Village, IL, is seeking an experienced Customs Broker to support its import and export operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and providing high-quality brokerage services for a variety of products including plastic resins, automotive materials, lubricants, waxes, and rubber products.
This position is ideal for a mid-level professional with approximately 10 years of experience who can independently manage customs clearance processes and maintain strong communication with clients and government agencies.

Essential Duties
Prepare, review, and submit customs entries and related documentation in compliance with CBP regulations.
Accurately classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and calculate duties and taxes.
Communicate with clients, carriers, and U.S. Customs officers to ensure timely cargo release.
Handle entries for high-value shipments, such as industrial materials and resins.
Monitor compliance requirements and maintain records for audits.
Support management in branch-level P&L and operational reporting.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff on customs procedures.
Collaborate closely with internal logistics, accounting, and operations teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Working Hours, Working Style
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
On-site work at Elk Grove Village office.

Salary / Benefit
Salary Range: Up to $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required).
Around 10 years of professional experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding.
Strong understanding of U.S. import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience handling commodities such as plastic resins, automotive materials, lubricants, or industrial goods preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in MS Office and customs software (ACE, ABI, etc.).
Japanese language ability is a plus, but not required
