Position
 Supervisor New Model Engineer

Summary
A leading automotive manufacturing company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supervisor, New Model Engineer to join our team in Ohio. This role is pivotal in launching new model programs and maintaining production efficiency.

You will be responsible for setting targets, driving continuous improvement, and overseeing the integration of new products into the manufacturing process. This position is ideal for an individual with a background in production engineering who is eager to take on supervisory responsibilities and has a keen eye for technical documentation and process optimization.

Essential Duties

• ​​​​​​​Oversee the Production Control and Quality Systems departments to meet company objectives
• Manage the quoting process for new business and products, including determining labor, material, and other associated costs
• Initiate APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for new model programs designed, manufactured, or passed through the facility
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including:
• Work instructions
• Flowcharts
• Engineering notices
• Package layouts
• Generate and distribute official factory cost documentation, ensuring updates are made as needed
• Manage and update packaging data and technical specifications within customer portals and internal databases (e.g., Material Master Database, SAP)
• Provide 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) support
• Issue requirements for pre-production builds at other facilities as appropriate
• Transfer technical data between overseas design teams and customers

Working Hours, Working style

• Full-Time, Monday – Friday.
• Core working hours are typically 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, with flexible start times as early as 6:00 AM.
• This is a fully on-site position (5 days per week).
• Occasional travel is required, including once weekly travel to Columbus, Ohio.
• International travel once or twice per year is possible.

Salary / Benefit
$75K - $85k

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing/CAD software
• Experience with SAP Material Management / Inventory Management
• Active passport for international travel preferred Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in Business or a related field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing)
• 3 to 6 years of management experience in an engineering, quality, or manufacturing environment
• Candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are also encouraged to apply and may be considered for the lower end of the salary range
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with database programs, such as Microsoft Access
• Must have or be eligible for a California Class C driver’s license (regular automotive)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and project management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing/CAD software
• Experience with SAP Material Management / Inventory Management
• Active passport for international travel preferred
