Job Description

【Summary】
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Accounting to lead all accounting operations. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity through robust oversight of internal controls, compliance, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a relentless drive for operational excellence. This position plays a key role in supporting business growth and ensuring sound financial decision-making across the organization.

【Essential Duties】
• Oversee accounting functions including General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, and Tax scheduling
• Ensure financial statements comply with IFRS and Panasonic Energy Corporation (PEC) standards
• Maintain and improve internal controls to comply with PEC SOX requirements
• Manage internal and external audit processes
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reporting
• Present financial results, variance analyses, and insights to executives and the parent company
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts
• Oversee product costing including materials, labor, and overhead
• Manage fixed asset life cycle (approvals, depreciation, disposals, audits)
• Lead and mentor the accounting team; foster cross-department collaboration
• Participate in strategic financial initiatives and continuous improvement projects

• Occasional international travel may be required (valid passport needed)

【Salary / Benefit】
• Annual Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)

【Qualifications】
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• CPA certification (preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in managing accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and SOX compliance
• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global corporate environment
• Japanese/English bilingual skills are a plus
