Position
Business Development Manager -Japanese Bilingual

Summary
A Japanese restaurant group is seeking a  Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will be based in Manhattan, NY, Los Angeles, CA, or San Francisco, CA, and be open to traveling up to 70% domestically. This position will be responsible for conducting market research to identify potential markets nationwide, developing store concepts tailored to each market, selecting real estate locations in targeted areas, and negotiating with realtors and landlords.

Essential Duties
Business Development
• Identify and research new business opportunities to support company growth.
• Analyze market conditions and industry trends to inform strategic direction.
• Develop and present new business plans based on research findings.
• Expand and enhance current business channels.
• Serve as a company representative in communications with business partners and external stakeholders.
• Review, draft, and coordinate contracts with vendors, partners, and other third parties.

Store Development
• Lead site development initiatives for various brands under the company.
• Coordinate and communicate with brokers, developers, landlords, and vendors throughout the development process.
• Conduct data analysis, prepare reports, and develop presentation materials to support decision-making.

​Other Responsibilities
• Serve as a Task Force member supporting the CEO on strategic initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Working Hours, Working style
9:00-18:00
 ​​​​​​This role requires frequent domestic travel, approximately 70% of the month, to visit potential store sites, attend meetings, and conduct on-the-ground research.

Qualifications
- ​​​​​​​Bilingual in Japanese and English
- Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, expansion, or strategy within the restaurant - Excellent negotiation, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically as needed
- Real estate or site development experience is a plus
