Applications Engineering

Summary ​​​​​​​
The primary function of the Applications Engineer is to provide support to the Applications Department for our sales and customer application needs. The ability to produce Cycle Time Analysis using various software tools and the customer data. Along with working within the Fuji product portfolio of equipment to address the challenging needs of our customers and provide dynamic solutions.

Essential Duties

• Scrub incoming data from customers provided formats to useable data format for importing into company software.
• Research component details via internet and other means to identify and confirm component specifications and its packaging.
• Learn and understand Fuji programming software packages (NEXIM).
• Importing of formatted data into Fuji software systems for program job creation.
• Learning all aspects of creating output data in order to generate Cycle Time Analysis studies.
• Learn all aspects of Fuji placement and insertion process equipment.
• Support machine demonstrations including preparation for the demonstrations.
• Support process and applications development and testing of concepts/customer solutions.
• Perform machine testing of custom solutions and new technologies/processes.
• Travel approximately 10-20% to support customer projects on-site at their facilities.
• Occasional international travel for training may be required (Japan)
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Salary/Benefit
$65,000 – $85,000 (Depending on Experience)

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or technical trade school
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Solidworks, CAD, Visual Components (a plus)
Excellent oral and written skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is required daily to stand, walk, to handle parts and tools. Walking, balancing, standing, turning, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, lifting (at least 50 pounds minimum), carrying, pushing, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing depth perception. Ability to use a phone, computer keyboard, etc. Individual may be required to lift and move at least 50 lbs. Employee works near moving mechanical parts. Moderate noise level. Verbal and Written Communication Skills, Customer Service Skills, Psychology Skills. Mental requirements include but are not limited to the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, adapt to and stay alert in a business environment, and to use independent judgment to accomplish results.
