Maintenance Team Member
Summary

The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and associated electrical and mechanical systems. This role also supports facility operations by assisting with water treatment, cleaning, and machine upkeep to ensure the plant remains safe, tidy, and fully functional.
Essential Duties
 

• Interpret drawings or verbal instructions to plan equipment repairs and modifications.
• Troubleshoot problems, perform electrical tests, replace defective parts or connections, reassemble, and test equipment.
• Diagnose and repair PLCs and USD systems.
• Install and modify equipment per code and process requirements; pull wires, bend conduit, build connections, and ensure proper power distribution.
• Prepare and design wiring diagrams for electrical, air, and gas distribution lines.
• Redesign circuits and prepare wiring diagrams when necessary.
• Test and tear down equipment; replace motors, clutches, gearboxes, and defective units.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance; inspect equipment and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise and direct helpers on repair projects.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring for plant equipment.
• Assist with training departmental employees.
• Repair equipment, structures, and specify necessary materials for projects.

Working Hours, Working Style

• Full-time, on-site role.
• Requires flexibility in work hours to address maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Work involves standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting throughout the day.

Salary/Benefit

• Annual salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Background in Industrial Manufacturing, Electrical, Welding, Trades, or Military training preferred.
• Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, welding, and mechanical/electrical systems is a plus.
• Skilled in using hand tools, electrical tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Forklift and overhead crane operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work across all levels of staff.
• Team-oriented with problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Physical capability to lift 50–100 lbs occasionally, 25–50 lbs frequently, and 10–20 lbs constantly.
• Must be able to work in noisy, hot, confined, and non-air-conditioned environments.
• Personal protective equipment required: vision protection, metatarsal steel-toed shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, and high-visibility clothing.
