Position
Japanese Bilingual Service Specialist

Summary
A leading Japanese manufacturer of industrial machinery and precision parts is seeking a Bilingual Service Specialist to join its U.S. operations. The role is responsible for providing technical machine and parts support—including troubleshooting and repair services—throughout North America. In addition, this position supports sales and purchasing operations, ensuring smooth coordination between customers, suppliers, and the company’s global headquarters.

Essential Duties

Technical, Parts & Repair Support

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services to customers.

• Generate or translate technical reports, PPAP, and other quality-related documentation.

• Conduct machine and parts selection, failure analysis, and propose corrective actions.

• Deliver training seminars to sales teams, customers, and end-users as needed.

• Visit customer sites to provide on-site service and support.

Sales & Purchasing Support

• Receive and process customer orders in a timely manner.

• Issue purchase orders to the company’s headquarters in Japan.

• Coordinate and arrange shipments for customers.

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.

• Manage billing processes, including preparing and issuing invoices.

• Provide interpretation support for visiting staff from Japan.

• Coordinate with vendors and logistics partners to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

Working Hours / Style

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Office-based role (daily attendance required)

• Occasional business travel to customer sites (approx. 3–4 times/month)

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical engineering (high academic credentials not required)

• Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese (required)

• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, vendors, and global headquarters (Technical, Sales, Quality).

• Valid driver’s license.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

• Ability and willingness to travel (approx. 3–4 times/month).

• Ability to operate necessary equipment for service and repair.

• Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and corrective action planning.

• Previous experience in technical customer support or service engineering preferred.
