Position
Manufacturing Engineer (Exempt)

Summary
We are seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing methods through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. This role involves designing and updating product drawings, fixtures, tooling, and gauges, as well as supporting new product launches in the automotive and heavy-duty truck industry.

Essential Duties

• Participate in new product introduction, providing feedback to enhance manufacturability.
• Create conceptual designs for fixtures, gauges, and tooling using 3D CAD (SolidWorks).
• Take part in APQP and PPAP activities to ensure successful product launch.
• Initiate and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
• Recommend and justify equipment upgrades or replacements based on ROI analysis.
• Develop procedures and work instructions to standardize high-quality manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
• Interact with customers regarding product designs and plant capabilities.
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.

Working Hours, Working style
Mon–Fri 
8am-5pm (some days could be over-time)
Working Style: On-site
Note: Saturdays are generally off, but overtime and Saturday work may occur during peak seasons.
*Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and risk management tools (e.g., PFMEA).
• Familiarity with mechanical processes and industrial equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing work situations.
• Physically able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
