Position Title:
Field Service Assistant

Summary:
The Field Service Assistant provides critical support across various departments, including Customer Support, QA/QC, Production, Marketing, Procurement, and Company Executives/Managers. The primary role involves servicing diesel generators and potentially compressors at customer job sites, requiring a customer-first attitude and the ability to handle technical troubleshooting and repair. This role offers continuous learning and development opportunities, making it ideal for those looking to grow in the field of service and maintenance, particularly with diesel engines and electrical systems.

Essential Duties:

• Provide field service support for diesel generators and compressors, with a preference for candidates with experience in diesel engines and electrical wiring.
• Respond to external and internal customer inquiries via phone and email, offering technical support, troubleshooting, and assistance in developing new processes and procedures.
• Assist customers with repair and maintenance needs and provide warranty assistance.
• Support the parts department in identifying and preparing parts for service setup, ensuring proper handling prior to shipment from the warehouse.
• Build trust and confidence with customers through reliable phone and email support.
• Utilize standard computer skills for administrative work, including case tracking.
• Research technical issues using both internal and external resources.
• Participate in warehouse and inventory control tasks.
• Engage in industry events and associations for networking and professional growth.
• Continuously enhance product knowledge through training and development.
• Foster good relationships with customers, employees, business partners, and the general public.
• Assist management in working with purchasing and design departments on new component implementations and other relevant tasks.
• Negotiate with customers and vendors as necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by company management.

Additional Requirements:

• Continuous education and training may require travel outside the primary location (Adairsville, GA).
• Occasional manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers.

Working Hours, Working Style:

• Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
• Business trip hours may vary, but supervisors aim to minimize overtime by scheduling trips accordingly.

Working Location:
Adairsville, GA (with potential travel required for field service)

Salary/Benefit:

• Hourly Rate: $17 - $20 per hour for the first 3 months, based on experience.
  • Salary performance will be evaluated at the end of this period, but a raise is not guaranteed.

Qualifications:

• Ability and availability to travel frequently.

• Preferred (but not required): Some level of Japanese language ability.
• Strong customer service skills with a “customer-first” mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
