Job Description

【Summary】

This position is for a Production Engineer who will be responsible for launching new products and designing and improving manufacturing processes. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

【Essential Duties】

• Research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment
• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
• Coordinate the launch of new or revised products, including setting goals, training team members, and evaluating results
• Create manpower plans based on production volume forecasts
• Provide input to product design based on manufacturability and assembly considerations
• Design, develop, source, and justify the cost of tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing
• Conduct product and process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency
• Develop and document quality systems (control plans, PFMEA, process flows, work instructions, and inspection plans)
• Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities
• Calculate dunnage requirements; design, test, and procure necessary dunnage for new programs
• Maintain documentation related to downtime, scrap, and efficiencies
• Use data (downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc.) to plan and implement countermeasures for equipment and process issues
• Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to support continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment

Mon - Fri / ​​​​​​​8:00a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Work is conducted in both office and plant environments (safety gear required in designated areas)

【Qualifications】

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of engineering experience (automotive manufacturing experience preferred)
• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Technical expertise in manufacturing processes, layouts, assembly, and production equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with current automotive standards and OSHA regulations
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to motivate teams and drive results
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Access experience preferred)
