HR Business Partner

Summary
We are a growing Japanese restaurant business is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team in Gardena, CA. This is a full-time, onsite position ideal for a dynamic HR professional with a strong background in startup environments and a hands-on approach to all aspects of Human Resources.

Essential Duties

• Serve as a strategic HR partner to leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
• Lead and manage day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to a growing organization.
• Provide guidance and support on California labor law compliance as well as multi-state labor law knowledge.
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Manage benefits administration and coordinate with external vendors as needed.
• Drive HR initiatives in alignment with organizational growth and employee engagement.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (Japanese language skills a plus but not required).
• Proven experience in a startup or fast-paced environment handling a wide range of HR functions.
• In-depth knowledge of California labor laws; familiarity with multi-state labor laws highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in an evolving work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
