Job Description

【Summary】
A U.S. affiliate of a global leader in the semiconductor, medical device, and electronic components industries, with over 7,000 employees across more than 60 locations worldwide, is based in San Jose, California.
This U.S. affiliate is currently seeking a General Accountant - Payroll Lead to join its Accounting team.

【Essential Duties】
​​​​​•  Oversee and handle payroll processes and compliance (state and federal), ensuring escalated payroll issues are resolved in a timely manner
•  Prepare and report financial and payroll statements to HQ in Japan
•  Handle various accounting processes (dependent on experience and background). Accounting tasks can include, but is not limited to:
　　Handling daily ledgers and journal entries
　　Supporting with accounts payable tasks
　　General accounting reconciliation and data accuracy checking
　　Processing monthly and year end closings, preparing and participating in internal and external audits
　　Assisting with DISCO internal managerial accounting tasks (WILL)
　　Preparing financial statements and tax return filing
•  Responsible for using Excel to analyze and report financial figures to managers upon requests
•  Participate, contribute, and handle various corporate activities focusing on deeper thinking, value exchange, and constant improvement
•  Perform other duties as assigned an a member of the Operations department
 
【Working Hours, Working Style】
Regular working hours / Monday - Friday 9AM -6PM
8AM - 5PM is acceptable  as well! (company is flexible)

【Working Location】
San Jose, CA ( onsite )

This position will be onsite in their San Jose office for during training period but once they get comfortable with the role, hybrid will be acceptable.

【Qualifications】
•  Knowledge and experience of general accounting, with background and experience in Payroll
•  Understanding of federal and state payroll laws and compliance
•  Knowledge in benefits is a plus
•  Detail-Oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
•  Flexible, open minded individual who seeks for continuous improvement of tasks
•  Strong analyzation and problem solving skills
•  Able to work with minimum supervision
•  Proficiency in Japanese is a plus

 【Education and Experience】
​​​​​​​•  5+ years of corporate accounting experience with payroll experience
•  Processing/analyzing payroll and understands state tax compliance
•  CPP is a plus
•  Must have experience working in a fast-paced, growing company with over 200 employees
•  High Proficiency of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
•  Experience in manufacturing or similar industry is a plus
