Accounting Manager

Summary
A Japanese clock company is seeking an experienced and autonomous Accounting Manager for a stable, long-term role focused on core financial accounting. This position is ideal for a professional who can independently manage the full accounting cycle and values a healthy work-life balance in a calm, supportive environment. The planned start date for this position is October 2025.

Essential Duties
  • Prepare and finalize accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Process and manage all wire transfers and daily cash management activities.
  • Oversee all general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • (Note: Invoicing and other sales-related accounting functions are handled by another area office.)

Working Hours, Working style
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. (negotiable)

Working Style
This is primarily an in-office position. The culture is based on autonomy and trust, with a focus on completing work accurately and efficiently. A thorough handover and training will be provided.

Salary/Benefit
  • Salary: Up to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Bonus: Annual bonus paid once or twice a year (historically equivalent to one month's salary).
  • Insurance: Medical & Dental insurance. The company pays 100% of the premiums for the employee and their family.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 days per year.
  • Sick Leave: 5 days per year.
  • PTO Rollover: Up to 200 hours of unused PTO can be carried over to the next year.

Holidays
The company observes major general international holidays.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar senior accounting role.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage the full month-end close process.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy.
