Assistant Manager ( Finance/Accounting & Internal Control Section ) ( Exempt )


Summary
We're looking for an Assistant Manager, Finance/Accounting & Internal Control at a leading Japanese trading company.
This role involves leading a team to execute a wide range of financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, audit response, and tax filing.
We're seeking someone with US GAAP knowledge, over five years of accounting experience, and bilingual skills in both English and Japanese.


Required Roles and Responsibilities as Management Personnel 
​​​​​​・Draw your own conclusions regarding matters that arise in area under your purview, and after seeking advice from your supervisor, conduct business management and organizational operation.

・Perform personnel management.
・Supervise your team members to achieve their goals and support their growth.


Primary Roles and Responsibilities
・​​​​​​​Lead Finance/Accounting & Internal Control Section and support to achieve team member's goal.
・Prepare and manage an annual Finance/Accounting & Internal Control action plan.
・Create Finance/Accounting & Internal Control budget and mid-term business plan.
・Analyze the company's performance and current status, accurately report to management, and propose improvements as necessary.
・Manage cash flow and coordinate with financial institutions to procure funds as needed.
・Response to audit firms.
・File tax returns and pay taxes.
・Promote company wide business reforms.
・Collaborate with other departments and parent company, ANATC to improve business quality.

Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

 ( You'll be required to work from the office two or more days per week, with the option to telework for the remaining days. )

During the Introductory Period (first 90 days), daily office attendance is required for training purposes.

Requirements
​​​​​(1) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
・Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
・Bilingual skills in English and Japanese (reading, writing, listening, and speaking)
・5+ years of accounting-related knowledge and practical experience
・Managerial experience as an Exempt employee
・CPA license preferred

(2) Language Skills
・Ability to effectively respond to questions from customers, internal staff, and external parties in English and Japanese.
・Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups in English and Japanese.
・Ability to write reports and procedure manuals in English and Japanese.

(3) Mathematical Skills
・Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.

(4) Other Skills
・Proficiency in using computers and application software such as Microsoft Windows/Office.


Work Environment
・Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen during normal working hours.
・Expected to attend company events, gatherings, and training sessions during work hours.
