Japanese Bilingual Metal Processing Operator

Summary
This is a full-time, hands-on production role at a solder alloy manufacturing company. The primary responsibility is to process solder in ingot form into powder using agitation machinery, as part of the pre-treatment phase prior to melting. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting metal materials and operating heavy machinery. Japanese language skills are essential to follow instructions from Japanese-speaking supervisors. The position operates on a rotating shift basis, including night shifts, and requires full onsite presence.

Essential Duties

• Handle and lift solder alloy materials in ingot form (approx. 50 lbs)

• Operate agitation machinery to convert ingots into powder

• Perform equipment maintenance, cleaning, and routine inspections

• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S and OSHA standards

• Follow production schedules and ensure proper processing of metal materials

• Report abnormalities and collaborate with supervisors and colleagues

• Carry out other duties as directed by plant management

Working Hours, Working Style

• Regular hours: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (includes break)

• Shift-based work including night shifts (night shift differential provided)

• Generally two-person shifts, but may occasionally be solo

• Fully onsite (remote work not available)

• Non-exempt, hourly position

Salary/Benefit

• Hourly wage: $23–$25/hour (based on Japanese language ability)

• Annual compensation target: approx. $55,000 including bonuses

• Biannual performance bonus (August and December), approx. 10% of annual salary

• Night shift differential

• Health insurance: $150/month for employee; additional cost for dependents

• 401(k): 3% employer contribution (automatic, no match required)

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or U.S. Citizen

• High school diploma or GED required

• Conversational to business-level Japanese (must understand instructions from Japanese-speaking staff)

• Ability to lift and handle metal materials weighing up to 50 lbs

• Physically fit and able to work in environments that may be hot, cold, or noisy

• Willing to work rotating shifts including nights

• Team player with a strong awareness of safety and quality standards
