Job Description

【Position】
Sr. Accountant ( Bilingual in English and Japanese )

【Summary】
Based in San Jose, California, we are the U.S. affiliate of a global leader in the semiconductor, medical device, and electronic components industries. With a global workforce of 7,000+ across 60+ locations, we are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant (10+ years) to join our growing Accounting team.

【Essential Duties】
・Responsible for daily general ledgers and journal entries
・Check data accuracy and update for general accounting
・Process monthly and year end closings, preparing and participating in internal and external audits
・Support Accounts Payable tasks
・Responsible for using Excel to analyze and report financial figures to managers upon requests
・Assist with internal managerial accounting tasks (WILL)
・Participate, contribute, and handle various corporate activities focusing on deeper thinking, value exchange, and constant improvement
・Perform other duties as assigned an a member of the Operations department
・Assist in reporting financial statements to HQ in Japan
・Troubleshoot independently through logistical sequences
・Work with the payroll team and accounting team to ensure escalated payroll issues are resolved promptly
・Collaborate with HR and Payroll team
・Help to prepare required tax filings and other reporting
・Report to accounting manager 
 
【Working Hours, Working Style】
Regular working hours / Monday - Friday 9AM -6PM
8AM - 5PM is acceptable  as well! (company is flexible)

【Qualifications】
・Knowledge and experience of general accounting, with background and experience in Accounts Payable as a must
・Detail-Oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
・Flexible, open minded individual who seeks for continuous improvement of tasks
・Strong analyzation and problem solving skills
・Able to work with minimum supervision
・Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
・Understand payroll state compliance  

 【Education and Experience】
・10+ years of corporate accounting experience with payroll knowlegde.
・Must have experience working in a fast-paced, growing company with over 200 employees
・High Proficiency of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
・Experience in manufacturing or similar industry is a plus
・CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus
・Processing/analyzing payroll and understands state tax compliance
