Job Description

【Summary】
A U.S. affiliate of a global leader in the semiconductor, medical device, and electronic components industries, with over 7,000 employees across more than 60 locations worldwide, is based in San Jose, California.
This U.S. affiliate is currently seeking a General Accountant to join its Accounting team.
They're looking for candidates with experience in payroll processing, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of state tax compliance. While English proficiency is a must, Japanese-speaking candidates and those with CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification are highly welcome!

【Essential Duties】
・Responsible for daily general ledgers and journal entries
・Check data accuracy and update for general accounting
・Process monthly and year end closings, preparing and participating in internal and external audits
・Support Accounts Payable tasks
・Responsible for using Excel to analyze and report financial figures to managers upon requests
・Assist with internal managerial accounting tasks (WILL)
・Participate, contribute, and handle various corporate activities focusing on deeper thinking, value exchange, and constant improvement
・Perform other duties as assigned an a member of the Operations department
・Assist in reporting financial statements to HQ in Japan
・Troubleshoot independently through logistical sequences
 
【Working Hours, Working Style】
Regular working hours / Monday - Friday 9AM -6PM
8AM - 5PM is acceptable  as well! (company is flexible)
 

【Working Location】
San Jose, CA ( onsite )

This position will be onsite in their San Jose office for during training period but once they get comfortable with the role, hybrid/WFH will be acceptable )

【Qualifications】
・Knowledge and experience of general accounting, with background and experience in Accounts Payable as a must
・Detail-Oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
・Flexible, open minded individual who seeks for continuous improvement of tasks
・Strong analyzation and problem solving skills
・Able to work with minimum supervision
・Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
・Understand payroll state compliance  

 【Education and Experience】
・​​​​2-3+ years of corporate accounting experience, AP experience is a plus
・Must have experience working in a fast-paced, growing company with over 200 employees
・High Proficiency of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
・Experience in manufacturing or similar industry is a plus
・CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus
・Processing/analyzing payroll and understands state tax compliance
