​​​​​​Client-Facing AI Consultant 

Summary
A Japanese Consulting company is seeking a Client-Facing AI Consultant who can bridge the gap between business strategy and AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business and technology—someone who can engage with clients, understand their challenges, and design AI strategies that deliver measurable impact. This position will lead the design and implementation of AI and data solutions, manage external vendors and technical teams, and ensure alignment with business goals. This is not a hands-on engineering role, but will need to understand technical concepts well enough to guide solution design and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Duties
• Act as the primary liaison between client business teams and technical delivery teams.
• Translate business objectives into AI and data solution strategies.
• Lead the design of AI-driven solutions, including vendor selection and architecture planning.
• Manage external partners, subcontractors, and product vendors to ensure successful delivery.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to uncover client needs and define solution requirements.
• Provide thought leadership on AI trends, use cases, and ethical considerations.
• Collaborate with:
o Industry consultants and business strategists
o Data scientists and AI engineers (internal and external)
o Client-side stakeholders including executives and operational leaders

Qualifications
•    Must-Have:
o    7+ years of experience in consulting, data/AI strategy, or digital transformation.
o    Proven experience in client-facing roles with strong communication and facilitation skills.
o    Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and ability to translate them into business value.
o    Experience managing technical vendors or delivery teams.
o    Strong business acumen and ability to align technology with strategic goals.
o    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
o    Must hold U.S. Work Permission
o    Must speak English
o    Must be willing to travel to a client location 

•    Nice-To-Have:
o    Experience in industries such as manufacturing, trading, or financial services.
o    Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
o    Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DMBOK).
o    Exposure to generative AI, LLMs, or NLP use cases.
o    Knowledge of Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
