Summary
A Tier 1 Japanese automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a Japanese-English Technical Interpreter/Translator to support communication between Japanese expatriates and local engineering teams. The role primarily supports operations related to Subaru’s Indiana manufacturing facility. This position complements an existing English-native interpreter, with a strong emphasis on interpreting and translating from English to Japanese. We are looking for a native Japanese speaker with excellent linguistic skills and a strong understanding of business and technical contexts.

Essential Duties

• Translate technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports from English to Japanese and vice versa

• Interpret in technical meetings, on-site instructions, and safety training sessions (English ↔ Japanese)

• Facilitate communication between Japanese managers/engineers and local staff

• Support reporting and coordination with the Japanese headquarters and OEM clients (Subaru)

• Participate in late afternoon meetings (approximately 1 hour, 1–2 times per week after 5:00 PM)

Salary / Benefits

• Annual Salary: $57,000 – $65,000 (commensurate with experience and skills)

• Bonus: Twice a year (June & December; typically equivalent to one month’s salary annually, performance-based)
