Position
Customs Entry Writer

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Entry Writer to join our Texas branch (Irving, TX). The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in customs entry procedures within the freight forwarding industry. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while supporting smooth and timely cargo clearance operations.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare and file customs entries for air and ocean shipments using e-filing systems

  • Review commercial documents (invoices, packing lists, etc.) to determine proper tariff classification

  • Coordinate with U.S. Customs, carriers, and internal departments for timely release of cargo

  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve clearance delays

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and procedures

  • Communicate with clients and vendors regarding required documentation

  • Support the brokerage manager and collaborate with other Entry Writers as needed

  • Perform related administrative duties and support logistics processes

Working Hours, Working Style

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM(Flexible)

  • Full-time, on-site only (no remote work)

  • Occasional weekend overtime may be required (non-exempt status)

Salary/Benefit

  • $50,000- $60,000 (Depending on experience)

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in customs entry writing (minimum 3 years required)

  • Prior experience working at a freight forwarder is highly preferred

  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and HTS classification

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time-sensitive conditions

  • Customs Broker License not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customs filing software

  • Team player with good communication skills
