Position
Logistics Coordinator

Summary
An Asian food distributor is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator. This pivotal role supports comprehensive purchasing operations, vendor coordination, and ensures seamless supply chain management. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
 
Essential Duties

• Input, update, and maintain sales orders, invoices, and bill-back data within the Company database.
• Update and maintain customer records in Company database.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building rapport.
• Coordinate with the accounting department to assure the collection of payment in a timely manner.
• Answer customer questions about product features, product benefits, and procedures.
• Coordinate delivery logistics with freight forwarders, custom brokers, and customers to meet their needs.
• Provide logistical support to warehouse shipping personnel by obtaining freight quotations and coordinating the shipping schedule.
• Report any inventory or service issues to appropriate account manager immediately.
• Coordinate inspections with local government agencies to comply export requirements: USDA, NOAA/USDC, LA County Agriculture, etc.
• Collaborate with the sales staff to monitor active purchase orders and ensure that orders are completed on time.
• Attend semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend.
• Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
• Other duties as required from manager.

Qualifications

• ​​​​​​​Language Proficiency:
  • Mandatory business-level fluency in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant logistics experience, with a strong preference for export coordination.
• Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), with advanced Excel skills including formulas and filters.
  • Adeptness in database management for data entry and record maintenance.
• Core Competencies:
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • High adaptability to fluctuating workloads and changing assignments.
  • Solid basic mathematical skills (e.g., markups, discounts, unit conversions, inventory counting).
• Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), reaching, bending, and kneeling.
  • Comfortable working in a normal to moderately loud office environment.
