Sales Representative – Key Account Coordinator

Summary
A U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese manufacturer specializing in high-performance lubricating grease is seeking a Sales Representative to support its expansion in the automotive and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have sales experience in the chemical or materials industry, preferably at a manufacturer, and possess strong technical understanding of products such as PBC, urethane, and industrial greases. Candidates with a background combining materials engineering and the automotive industry are highly sought after.

Essential Duties

• Manage and develop relationships with major clients, including automotive and heavy machinery manufacturers

• Provide technical consultation and sales support for lubrication and material-based products (e.g., urethane, urea-based greases, piping materials)

• Conduct needs analysis and propose tailored solutions based on deep product knowledge

• Collaborate with Japan headquarters to align with global product strategies

• Work cross-functionally with supply chain and inside sales teams to ensure operational excellence

• Prepare technical documents and proposals in coordination with the marketing team

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities

Working Hours, Working Style

• 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch)

• Full-time, Exempt

• Hybrid work style (office + remote)

• Travel required: 10–25%

Salary/Benefit

• Salary: Up to $100,000/year (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

• B2B sales experience, preferably in chemical, resin, grease, or piping material manufacturing

• Strong preference for candidates with manufacturer sales experience (not trading company)

• Ideal: Background in materials engineering with experience in the automotive industry

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and tailor solutions to client needs

• Familiarity with Japanese business practices and communication styles is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree required (chemistry, or materials science preferred)

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
