Position
Restaurant Manager

Summary
A new Japanese quick-service restaurant is opening soon in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We are seeking a Restaurant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and support our store’s success from launch through ongoing growth. This position is ideal for candidates who have prior restaurant management experience at fast-paced chains such as Panda Express or McDonald’s, or for Japanese-speaking professionals who are passionate about food service and ready to take on a leadership role. This is a highly systematized environment, designed for efficiency, standardization, and scalability.

Essential Duties

• Oversee daily restaurant operations and manage store performance

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of 10–15 staff members

• Manage 4-person shifts and ensure proper shift coverage and productivity

• Operate and oversee kiosk-based counter service system

• Monitor quality, food safety, and cleanliness standards

• Handle inventory, supply orders, and vendor coordination

• Respond to customer issues with professionalism and care

• Implement and maintain company SOPs to ensure consistency

• Support training of new hires and team development

• Coordinate with company leadership on store-level goals and reporting

Working Hours, Working Style

• Full-time, 5 days per week

• 8–10 hour shifts

• Two fixed days off per week (not guaranteed on weekends)

• On-site only (no relocation support or remote work)

• Exempt position (overtime not applicable)

• Must reside within commuting distance

Salary/Benefit

• Annual salary: $53,000 – $60,000 (based on experience)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant or food service management

• QSR background (e.g., Panda Express, McDonald’s, or similar) preferred

• Alternatively, Japanese-speaking candidates with strong interest in food service management are welcome

• Strong team leadership and communication skills

• Tech-savvy; comfortable using kiosk/POS systems

• Capable of working in a fast-paced, standardized service environment

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. or qualify for E-2 visa sponsorship
