Japanese Bilingual Sales Representative – International Logistics Solutions

Summary
A Japanese-affiliated logistics company is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Sales Representative for its Chicago-area office (Wood Dale, IL). This role is open to candidates with business-level Japanese proficiency and solid B2B sales experience in any industry. While prior experience in international logistics, 3PL, or freight forwarding sales is highly preferred, it is not mandatory. The successful candidate will manage existing accounts and develop new business across the Midwest, providing tailored logistics solutions including freight forwarding and supply chain services.

Essential Duties

• Visit and manage clients in IL, IN, OH, MI, and KY

• Propose and implement international freight and 3PL logistics solutions

• Coordinate with internal operations teams for smooth service delivery

• Prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts for potential and existing clients

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue targets

• Provide post-sales support and maintain strong client relationships

• Offer insights on market trends and competitive landscape

Working Hours / Working Style

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Central Time)

• Full-time, on-site preferred

• Regular business travel required throughout the Midwest

Salary / Benefit

• Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 (for industry-experienced candidates; open to discussion for strong sales backgrounds from other industries)

• Commission Structure:
  　・Year 1: 15% for new accounts / 10% for new business from existing accounts
  　・Year 2: 10% / 5%
  　・Year 3 onward: accounts become house accounts

• Transportation Support (choose one):

  　・Company-provided vehicle (e.g., Toyota Camry) — includes full fuel coverage and personal use permitted

Qualifications

• Business-level Japanese and English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)

• Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience (any industry)

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently in the Midwest

• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain is a plus but not required

• Candidates from small to mid-sized company backgrounds preferred
