Position Summary

The Audit Manager is responsible for delivering audit and assurance services, as well as accounting consulting to clients, while supervising engagement teams. Acting as the primary client contact, the manager exercises sound judgment in handling inquiries, leads engagements, and supports staff development through training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Review financial statements, workpapers, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards

• Research and interpret complex accounting regulations and client transactions

• Supervise engagement team work and ensure high-quality submissions

• Manage multiple engagements concurrently and meet deadlines

• Lead client meetings and offer consultation on accounting matters

• Oversee internal control audits, including J-SOX

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and identify new service opportunities

• Stay updated on developments in accounting and auditing standards

• Coordinate all phases of engagements, from planning to execution

• Exercise independent judgment to assess risks and determine procedures

• Collaborate on client issue resolution and regulatory compliance

• Work with executives on budgeting, billing, and collections

• Foster a respectful and inclusive team environment

• Promote use of technology for efficiency improvements

• Train, mentor, and evaluate staff and senior accountants

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution

• CPA license required

• Minimum 5+ years of financial audit experience in public accounting

• Experience as an Audit Manager is a plus

• Practical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and SSARS

• Strong analytical, accounting, and computer skills (Excel, Word, accounting software)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Business-level proficiency in English is required

• Bilingual (English/Japanese) preferred or required

• Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
