Position
Outside Sales Representative - Japanese-Bilingual

Position Summary
A leading Japanese food and alcohol beverage distributor is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to expand its market presence among American consumers. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, introducing new products, and supporting innovative marketing efforts. You will analyze sales data, coordinate with the Purchasing Department, and manage brokers to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate will engage directly with existing and prospective clients, providing product expertise and outstanding service. Business-level Japanese is required.

Essential Duties

• ​​​​​​​Meet monthly and annual sales targets as set by management
• Visit existing and prospective clients to provide product support and sales guidance, with a focus on Japanese-speaking customers
• Collaborate with the Accounting Department to ensure timely payment collection
• Maintain strong customer relationships by delivering excellent service and timely communication
• Coordinate urgent deliveries with customers and the warehouse
• Educate clients on product benefits and usage
• Accurately input and update orders in the company database
• Operate company vehicle in compliance with company policies
• Participate in weekly sales meetings and training
• Attend semiannual inventory counts (may include weekends)
• Represent the company at events and functions outside regular hours
• Adapt to evolving assignments and priorities
• Perform additional duties as requested by management

Qualifications

• ​​​​​​​Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable driving for the majority of the workday
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Business-level Japanese required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must pass the Sake Adviser course within 1 year of employment
• Knowledge of Japanese food and alcoholic beverages required
• Basic math skills for inventory, pricing, and conversions
• Able to work independently and collaboratively
