Sales Representative – Commercial Freight (Logistics & Transportation)

Summary
This position is responsible for developing and managing business opportunities in international and domestic logistics services, including ocean freight, air freight, trucking, and warehousing. The role focuses on generating new accounts and servicing existing clients, primarily Japanese-affiliated companies but also expanding to U.S. clients. The position offers a hybrid/remote option after initial in-person training at one of the branch locations.

Essential Duties

•  ​​Develop new business opportunities and manage existing accounts within the Central Time Zone (e.g., Midwest, Texas)
• Promote international and domestic logistics services, including ocean, air, ground transportation, and warehousing
• Engage with Japanese and American clients to provide customized logistics solutions
• Prepare and deliver proposals, handle price negotiations, and close deals
• Coordinate closely with internal teams and overseas offices to ensure quality service
• Conduct client visits, attend meetings, and network within the logistics industry
• Keep CRM records updated and provide regular reporting to management

Working Hours / Working Style

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Central Time)
• Remote work is available after completing 1–2 months of training at one of the offices (Chicago, Dallas, Houston)
• Company covers lodging and travel expenses during training

Work Location

• Primary hiring office: Chicago, IL
• Open to candidates based in the Central Time Zone (e.g., Houston,  Midwest)
• Post-training: Remote or hybrid, depending on location and performance

Salary / Benefits

• Base Salary: $50,000
• Commission:

• High earning potential: Top sales staff can exceed $200K/year
• Travel and lodging expenses for business trips covered by the company

Qualifications

• Knowledge of freight forwarding (ocean, air, ground)
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Business-level English (Japanese language ability preferred, especially for Japanese client interaction)
• Ability to work independently and manage accounts remotely
• Valid driver’s license required
