Position
Sales & Purchasing Assistant  (Inside Sales)

Summary
The role focuses on supporting the Sales & Purchasing Manager with day-to-day inside sales activities. Responsibilities include assisting with order processing, coordinating with customers and suppliers, preparing sales documents and quotations, and maintaining accurate records. The position also involves handling internal and external communication, supporting pricing and inventory coordination, and ensuring timely follow-up on customer inquiries and project timelines.

Essential Duties
Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Support the Vice President and team with business development and coordination tasks.

  • Assist in communication with customers and suppliers to support smooth operations.

  • Help research and organize information on new product opportunities.

  • Translate and relay communications between the U.S. office and the Japanese parent company.

  • Assist in preparing documents and materials for meetings, pricing, and customer proposals.

  • Help coordinate initial stages of new business and product launches.

  • Maintain communication with customers regarding orders, changes, and general support.

  • Share updates from customers internally and assist with issue resolution.

  • Support reporting, sales documentation, and basic project tracking.

  • Act as a liaison for cross-cultural communication between Japanese and U.S. teams.

Other Duties:

  • Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and the parent company (domestic and international).

  • Serve as a language and cultural interpreter as needed.

  • Perform other support tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • About 50% desk work.

  • Occasional extended workdays or weeks.

  • Up to 30–50% travel, including international trips.

Qualifications
​​​​​​​•    Bachelors of Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related fields preferred or the equivalent in related experience.
•    Two (2) years previous experience in OEM automotive parts sales role.
•    Advanced MS Office skills (e.g. XL, Word, etc.), plus CAD, CAM, 
•    Must be able to read & interpret blueprints at the conceptual level.
•    Highly organized with advanced time management skills.
•    Bilingual (English & Japanese)
Other:
•    When bilingual skills are available, translation & interpretation skills will be used to accurately communicate critical information between company and others.
