System Engineer (Infrastructure & Cloud)

【Summary】
A Japanese IT Company is seeking a skilled and experienced System Engineer with over 3 years of hands-on expertise in infrastructure and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of our organization's IT systems and cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. 

【Essential Duties】
Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and maintain the company’s on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security systems.

Cloud Services Management:
Manage and optimize cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and security.

Automation and Scripting:
Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis of issues, and implement fixes to prevent downtime.

Security and Compliance:
Work closely with security teams to ensure the infrastructure adheres to industry standards and best practices, including data protection, access management, and disaster recovery protocols.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless system integration and efficient deployment of applications.

Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and procedures. Provide regular reports on system performance, upgrades, and incident resolution.

​​​​​Client Interaction:
Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese clients. You will spend approximately half of your workweek on-site at client locations to support their infrastructure needs.

Client Meetings:
Participate in weekly meetings with client representatives in Japan. These meetings may require early or late working hours to accommodate time zone differences, potentially leading to overtime.

Continuous Improvement:
Proactively recommend and implement improvements to the infrastructure and cloud environment to increase reliability, scalability, and performance.

【Working Hours, Working style】
9:00-17:00（Hybrid work / 2-3 days in the office per week)
This role will involve working closely with Japanese clients, with about half of the week spent on-site at client locations. Weekly meetings with client representatives based in Japan are also expected, which may result in occasional overtime.

【Qualifications】
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in system engineering, focusing on infrastructure management and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in system administration (Linux, Windows).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.).
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
Familiarity with security best practices and data protection standards.

Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English (business level or above), with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
