Position
​​​​​​​Import/Export Administrator 

Summary
A Japanese company in Midtown NY is hiring a person who has Min 2-3 years of import/export job experience

Essential Duties
・​​​​​​​Prepare shipment by obtaining loading plans, shipping instruction on foreign-to-foreign shipment, and facilitate booking process between the factory and freight forwarder.
・Develop freight quotes and decide the freight forwarder to be used.  Review contents such as CBM, gross weight, shipping term and delivery methods.
・Submit freight quote for approval.  
・Book shipment.  Oversee updated rate information before booking. Review shipping method, size, destination and vessel schedule on booking and provide delivery instructions to the freight forwarder. 
・Process preliminary booking.  Inquire forwarders about the latest rates and negotiate the rates.  Share booking information with the forwarder and the original office for urgent shipment.
・Monitor shipment status.  Submit commercial documents to freight forwarder’s custom brokerage division.  Update loading plan and tracking report.  Issue packing list. Resolve any delivery issues.
・Inform the Sales department of any shipment issues so that the sales can communicate with their customers.
Perform customs clearance activities.  Provide necessary information to freight forwarder’s custom brokerage division, including HTS code, shipping term, gross weight, etc.  Confirm the factory/product information for ADD/CVD cases.  Create non-reimbursement statement for ADD/CVD case.
・Handle freight invoices.  Review and verify entry summary and charges. Correct any mistakes if necessary and negotiate charges if necessary.  
・Handle and file maritime insurance claim.  Issue the letter of intent to file a claim.  Gather necessary evidence and information for claims. 

Working Hours, Working style
9:00 - 18:00
​​​​​​​Work in the office at least 3 days per week. Commute in time.

Qualifications
